Leaded Solder Bar
Why get our Leaded Solder Bar?
At DKL Metals, we focus on rapid response, personal service, and competitive pricing. These values guide every order we fulfil and every partnership we build. We produce a range of Leaded solder bars containing Tin/Lead for the electronics industry. This follows the introduction of the RoHS Directive. We support industries still exempt from this legislation. To comply with exemptions, our product range of leaded solder bar is reduced.
Why should I used leaded over lead free?
Leaded solder bar remains popular in some industries due to its lower melting point of around 183°C. This lower temperature reduces thermal stress on components during soldering and prevents damage. The bright and shiny finish of leaded solder joints also helps quality control by making oxidation problems easy to spot. Leaded solder flows better than lead-free alternatives, which improves wetting and creates strong, reliable joints.
Industries such as aerospace and medical manufacturing demand high reliability that leaded solder provides. It offers cost-effective processing and longer soldering tip life thanks to its lower heat requirements. Although lead-free solders suit many consumer electronics, leaded solder remains essential for specialised applications where durability and proven performance matter most.
