Indium

A very soft metal with a low melting point, Indium is used mainly in the electronics sector for semi-conductors and flat screen display equipment. In metallurgy indium is an important constituent in fusible (or low melting point alloys, LMPA’s), often alloyed with Lead, Tin and Bismuth to produce alloys that melt from 43˚C to 93˚C. Indium is also used as a minor element in some Aluminium marine cathodic protection anodes.
